Plushenko made two mistakes on the eight elements.
The short program was decided in the first combination jump.
Both wanted to do a quadruple toe loop-triple toe loop.
Plushenko couldn't control the rotation and
had to step out of his quad.
Although he added a triple toe loop, it didn't count.

Joubert landed his quad a bit shakily but still on one foot.
He added just a double toe loop but still got credit for both jumps,
and gained more than 3.00 points on Plushenko on that move alone.
Joubert ended up ahead by 1.65 points overall.

Plushenko's performance to "Moonlight Sonata" was flat and subdued,
not the enthralling version he performed to win the Grand Prix final
last month when Joubert was fifth.

なるほど。ツーミスの上にさえない演技だったとしたら
もうしょうがないわなぁ。
前半、一人別世界の得点挙げてたジェーニャが
ここへきてこういう展開になるってのは、
本人にはかわいそうだが、見る側にとっては面白い。
フリーでは鬼気迫る演技でも見せてくれるんだろうか。

でも、まぁ、本人「疲れてる」といってるから
無理することもないと思うけど。
